The cost of Poms stuck in traffic

Linking the quality of emergency response to the cost of the emergency for the economy should be encouraged. If emergency services cannot deploy efficient equipment the economy will bear the brunt.
We applaud the UK Government for giving us insight in savings of a flood emergency; savings realized by using a more efficient high volume pump.
The UK economy saved over £500,000 or $1M AUD as a super pump was used to quickly dewater a flooded A1 by pumping it into the River Swale.
The pump is a Hytrans pump from the Highways England as used in Australia by industry and Fire & Rescue NSW.
Pumping Poms got it right (this time): giving emergency services high quality gear is good for all of us. Sometimes it is good to talk dollars.
