NoFloods mobile flood barrier is a set of two water-filled tubes. The weight of the water holds the tube in place and prevents flood water from entering the area.Â
Besides flood control, NoFloods barrier tubes can be used to build coffer dams during beach extension projects, pipeline repairs, culvert repairs, etc. You can also use this product to build a reservoir to store water, sewage, chemicals, wastewater, etc.
NoFloods is available in different heights, designed to tackle minor and severe flooding. You can get them for water heights of 36cm and 80cm high tubes.
You can create a barrier of any length by connecting NoFloods tubes together. Whether you want to protect a small-scale property or a large area, NoFloods is ideal. Here are the available tube lengths:
The aluminium junction unit allows you to join two flood tubes together. You can use the end terminal to complete the deployed section. These fittings are provided with the NoFloods tubes.
A very convenient flood protection solution, the NoFloods tubes weigh only 3kg per metre before deployment. After using, you can store the tubes very compactly. Â
An 80cm high twin tube water-filled tube weighs 2350kg per metre.
NoFloods come in single, double, and triple tube models. So, while you can get the single tube version, note that you’d need to secure for it to stay in place. Otherwise, the pressure of flood water can push the tube away. When the tubes are joined together, the barrier becomes more stable.Â
NoFloods mobile flood barrier works on all surfaces like grass, dirt, concrete, bitumen, and more and is great for urban and rural sites. The flexible tubes will adapt to the contours and undulations of the surface.
Typically, 4-6 people are sufficient to deploy an average-sized NoFloods barrier. You may require more when linking tubes and creating longer barriers.Â
NoFloods tubes are made of double-woven polypropylene, consisting of an outer layer and an inner liner. This UV-treated, highly sturdy material can withstand temperatures between -40°C to +50°C. Moreover, the tubes are resistant to tearing, abrasion, chemicals, prolonged sun exposure, and extreme weather conditions.
In rare instances, the tubes may get punctured or damaged. But, as the material is rip-resistant, the tears from punctures won’t extend further and affect the function of the tubes. They won’t rip open. NoFloods barriers come with a repair kit to fix damages permanently. For short-term, quick fixes, duct tape is ideal.Â
Yes. NoFloods flood tubes are an eco-friendly, sustainable alternative for one-time sandbags. It reduces carbon emissions by over 90%. With proper maintenance, you can use them for a long time. It is among the 100 sustainable solutions by Sustainia.
Retrieval of the tubes takes just a few hours. First, you have to drain the water from the tubes, let it dry, and fold it compactly. If the barrier is very long, you can use a hydraulic winch to do it quickly.
